Hi, y’all!   I’m Buck O.

From my pictures, you can see that I am a handsome, brindle Boxer that is about 2 years old. I have beautiful golden eyes that have all the ladies swooning.  Besides my good looks, though, I’d like to take a minute of your time to tell you a few other things about myself.

A few weeks ago, I was out running around all by myself.  I sort of liked it, because I could do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.  However, on the other paw, I was cold, lonely, and I hate to admit it, but I was also scared a lot of the time.

After being on my own for a bit, I eventually ended up in an Animal Shelter.  This place was a little better than being on the run, but certainly not what I was hoping for.  At the shelter I had food to eat and was out of the winter weather.  I knew, though, that this was not the place for me!
One day, at the shelter, I was just hanging out in my pen, minding my own business, when these two humans showed up. I heard them say, "Hey, he's a good-looking Boxer. We need to take him to our house and make him a Go Boxer Rescue guy."  These nice people put me in their car with another Boxer girl, and off we went to my new foster home.  Finally, my life seemed like it was taking a turn for the better!

Life here at my foster home has been a blast!  I have two Boxer foster brothers and a Boxer sister.  Sometimes a little furry thing they call Tinkerbell the Terrible Pomeranian also comes over.  We all play and play and play.  When we finally get tired, we all crash on the sofa, a chair, the floor, and sometimes each other!
Things at my foster home aren’t all fun and games though.  There are rules here that us Boxers must follow.  With help, I am learning to follow these rules and am pretty good with most of them.  I know that I must go outside to do my potty "business.”  I must sit and be calm if I want a treat or want to be petted.  I also have to play nice with the other dogs.  If I don’t do these things, I will get myself in trouble with my foster parents.  Since I am so happy to be part of their family, I really want to make them proud.  I try really hard to follow all the rules the best that I can.
Since I was on my own for awhile, I am slightly on the independent side.  My foster parents say that I will need a strong leader in my new forever home.  They will have to make sure that I don't forget that humans are allowed to set my boundaries and rules and that I must follow them.

I really like to sit in front of you and let you pet me and tell me what a good boy I am.  I will sit next to you on the sofa and keep you real warm with my soft, beautiful coat.  I also like to go for rides in the car and I am working on walking beside you on a leash.  I am neutered, up to date on all my vaccinations, heart worm negative, and house trained.  I am working on behaving myself in my crate.  I don't mind going into the crate at all -- I just don't like staying in it for any length of time.  With some consistent practice, I know I will get better with that.  I am a very smart guy and all.
Right now, the only thing I could ask for would be a new forever home.  I would love another dog to play with and I would especially love to have a little boy or girl to hang out with.
If you have the time to give me the attention and training that I need, please fill out the application and don't forget to ask for me by name, Buck O.
